WELLNEA – Sheltered workshop – between EU TOP 3 employers of people with disabilities (an example of good practice)
Sheltered workshop WELLNEA – beauty salon – hairdressing, cosmetics, manicure, pedicure, massage, jewelery personnel, is bounded with a social non-profit organization providing supported services for people with disabilities TENENET, o.z., during the May 2015 EASPD conference (European Association of Service Providers FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITY), which this year takes place in Zadar, it was awarded. The conference was devoted to the topic of social and occupational integration of people with disabilities into society.
Awards EASPD EMPLOYMENT FOR ALL AWARD aims to highlight examples of good practice in the provision of social services and employment of people with disabilities in the EU. Wellnea that in Senec provides service beauty salon and currently employs five employees with disabilities, was nominated in the category “An employer providing better conditions for people with disabilities”, and was awarded among the three best examples of good practice across the EU.
EASPD is a non-profit NGO service providers for people with physical disabilities, represents the views of over 10, 000 social service providers and their umbrella association in the EU. The main objective of EASPD is to promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities through effective and high quality service systems. EASPD is a partner and co-operates with the European Parliament, European Commission, European Economic and Social Committee, the Council of Europe, the United Nations.
WELLNEA sheltered workshop was founded in 2009 and during his time in Senec town also received awards of ASHOKA Changmaker and Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Families of Slovak Republic award as employer friendly to families of its employees. Currently opens a new branch in Bratislava and employs a total of five people with disabilities. Our mission is to support people with disabilities and their works prove that we are equal partners on the market able to provide quality services and thereby demolish prejudices against people with disabilities in society.
TENENET (NGO) is a member of EASPD, which completely solves the issues of quality of life for people with disabilities. We as an example of a good practice often represent the employment of youth with disabilities – most recently in March 2015 in Warsaw we were invited to have a lecture by the president of Genereal interest for the nonprofit sector for European economic and social committee in the EU. At the national level we are members of the platform SocioFórum home from home in the process of de-institutionalization and development of community services. We are members of the interdepartmental working group for state youth policy on employment in the process of preparing documents for the strategy of the state employment policy towards youth in the Slovak Republic for 2014-2020. We are building a strategic cross-sectoral partnerships that seek to engage both public and non-profit sector, but also invite business sector to help address the social challenges of society within corporate social responsibility and corporate philanthropy.
