The social service of early intervention is a free social service provided to the family primarily in the field in its natural environment, it can be supplemented by an outpatient form in the premises of our center. We often meet shortly after the birth of the baby in the maternity ward. The early intervention service supports families whose child has a developmental risk or a health handicap from birth to 7 years of age. Parents’ fears and insecurities can be a reason for seeking the support of an early intervention service. It is important that families can use this service as soon as possible after discovering the child’s problems. In addition to psychosocial support, we provide help for the health-impaired and vulnerable people, social counseling within communities, and thus we have dedicated ourselves to the service of early intervention. The early intervention social service is primarily provided in the natural environment of the family. We provide outpatient psychodiagnostics and professional psychological counseling performed by certified psychotherapists. In addition, we also provide physiotherapy – it is a treatment aimed at maintaining, supporting and restoring the maximum functional capacity of an individual and is highly individual. In therapy, we are concerned with creating correct movement habits, improving posture and developing coordination. We implement exercise and treatment with children in a playful way. The mobile team, consisting of experts from various professions (especially social worker, special educator, physiotherapist, nurse, psychologist) regularly visits families as part of early intervention, helps not only guide parents in caring for a child with at-risk development, but also focuses on the individual needs of parents and help with daily household activities. Help in the social field, planning of professional examinations – special pedagogue, speech therapist, psychologist, physiotherapist. The counselor and the parent look for solutions together to support the child. The counselor makes suggestions on how to specifically develop the necessary area and support the parent so that he can develop the child himself. Together with the family, they also look for ways to overcome obstacles, help the family overcome challenges in the long term and encourage parents in their role, which cannot be replaced by any advocate.
